Street Outreach Worker  

Contract until March 31st 2020

Salary from - £ 23,886 to £28, 221 p.a. Grade 5

Hours:  37 hours per week

Duties of the post:

The street outreach worker will be responsible for providing outreach to members of the street community in Worthing and Adur. This will include responding to reports of rough sleepers, working as part of a team to contact and offer support to those who live and spend time on the streets and also one to one work.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the issues that face the street community including the impact of trauma, homelessness, mental health and substance use, particularly for women. Strong communication skills, an ability to work in a multi-agency approach and flexibility are key.

This role involves some early morning, evening and weekend work, in response to the needs of the service.

These posts are funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government ( MHCLG) to specifically support those who are rough sleeping.
