Salary: From £21,074 to £23,111 per annum

Grade: Grade 4

Closing Date: 17th February 2019

You will be part of the Engineering Team which undertakes a broad range of civil, municipal and environmental engineering work for Adur & Worthing Councils.

With funding granted by Central Government, Adur & Worthing Councils are managing, in partnership with other Maritime Councils and the Environment Agency, the Regional Coastal Monitoring Programme for this area. The area covered extends between Selsey Bill and Rye Harbour and includes GPS, mobile & static laser scan and UAV surveys, data management and coastal process, beach, wave and tide analysis.

We are looking for an energetic, scientifically minded, motivated person with good communication skills and a love of the great outdoors. You will be working as part of a team at the forefront of this work in the UK. Your main functions will be to assist with the collection, processing and analysis of coastal data.

Survey work will require you riding an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), a willingness to work outside of normal office hours (i.e. 4:00am starts and occasional 10:00pm finish) in all weather conditions. The physicality of this role cannot be underestimated.

You must have A-level Maths, Geography or an ONC in Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering or a comparable Land Surveying qualification.

To discuss the post, please contact Dan Amos, Coastal Cell 4d Data Analyst / Project Manager, on 01903 221376.
