Salary: From £21,074 to £23,111 per annum (Grade 4)

We are looking to appoint someone to join our busy team located in the beautiful South Downs National Park.

We need someone who can juggle the demands of this varied and interesting role. This role is vital in helping us provide a high quality Bereavement Service that meets the needs of the bereaved in our communities.

The post holder will be working with the bereaved, funeral directors, memorial masons, cemetery grounds operatives and other stakeholders. You will therefore need to be confident in helping people who have been recently bereaved with advice, enquiries and information.

The work is strongly process based, therefore a good eye for detail and strong administration and organisational skills are essential.   You will be part of a team who take bookings for cremations and burials and the subsequent statutory and non-statutory paperwork that arises. 

The post holder will be involved with processing memorial applications, ensuring that memorial masons are registered with National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM). You will also be required to administer the safe management of memorials, ensuring that inspections are carried out periodically for safety reasons and keeping the databases up to date as well as administering the transfer or extension of burial rights, making sure that the correct questions are asked of the enquirer and the proper procedure and paperwork are completed.
